Important Notice Regarding Hearing Aids

Hearing aids are customized medical devices programmed specifically for individual hearing needs. Due to their personalized nature and hygiene considerations, our refund policy for hearing aids differs from standard consumer products.

We follow guidelines established by healthcare authorities and industry standards for hearing aid returns and exchanges.

1. General Policy Principles

At Mafas Hearing Solutions, we strive to provide excellent hearing healthcare services. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be provided and our procedures for appointment cancellations.

We are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction with our services and products. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us immediately so we can address your concerns.

2. Appointment Cancellations

2.1 Consultation Appointments

For hearing tests, consultations, and follow-up appointments:

  • Free Cancellation: Appointments can be cancelled free of charge if notified at least 24 hours in advance
  • Late Cancellation: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a cancellation fee of ₹500
  • No-Show: Patients who do not show up for their appointment without prior cancellation may be charged the full consultation fee for future appointments

2.2 Emergency Situations

We understand that emergencies happen. In case of genuine emergencies (medical emergencies, accidents, etc.), cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion with appropriate documentation.

3. Refund Policy for Services

3.1 Consultation Services

Refunds for consultation services are handled as follows:

3.2 Service Packages

For pre-paid service packages (e.g., annual maintenance packages):

  • Refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis for unused services
  • A ₹1000 administrative fee may apply for package cancellations
  • Refund requests must be made in writing

4. Hearing Aid Refund Policy

Trial Period Policy

We offer a 7-day trial period for most hearing aid models (terms may vary by manufacturer). During this period, you can return the hearing aids for a full refund (minus a ₹2000 fitting fee) if:

  • The hearing aids are returned in original condition with all accessories
  • No physical damage is present
  • All original packaging and documentation is included

4.1 Return Conditions

Hearing aids may be returned for refund or exchange under these conditions:

4.2 Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Custom-made hearing aids or ear molds (due to hygiene considerations)
  • Hearing aids with physical damage or signs of misuse
  • Hearing aids returned without all original accessories
  • Batteries, cleaning tools, and other consumables
  • Services already rendered (consultations, fittings, adjustments)

5. Refund Process

How to Request a Refund

5.1 Processing Time

  • Refund Approval: 3-5 business days after receiving returned items
  • Refund Processing: 5-10 business days after approval
  • Bank Processing: Additional 2-7 business days depending on your bank

Total Time: Most refunds are completed within 10-15 business days from the date we receive your returned items.

5.2 Refund Methods

Refunds are issued to the original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunded to the same card
  • Digital Payments: Refunded to the same UPI/Wallet account
  • Cash: Refunded via bank transfer (account details required)

6. Exchanges

We understand that hearing needs may change. Exchange options are available:

6.1 Hearing Aid Exchanges

  • Exchanges within 30 days of purchase are generally permitted
  • Price differences apply (you pay the difference for upgrades, we refund the difference for downgrades)
  • A ₹1500 exchange fee may apply for non-defective exchanges
  • Exchanged devices must be in like-new condition

6.2 Defective Products

If you receive a defective hearing aid:

  • Contact us immediately (within 48 hours recommended)
  • We will arrange for repair or replacement under warranty
  • No additional charges for warranty claims
  • Loaner devices may be provided during repair (subject to availability)
