Special Tests

Special tests mostly includes tests like STAT, TDT, SISI etc.

  • STAT or SUPRATHRESHOLD ADAPTATION TEST is a continuous test tone lasting a total of 60 seconds presented at 110dB SPL.

  • TDT or tone decay test is used to detect and measure auditory fatigue. In people with normal hearing, a tone whose intensity is only slightly above their absolute threshold of hearing can be heared continuosly for 60 seconds.

  • SISI short increment sensitivity index is a test to measure the ears ability to detect small intensity changes and it forms a tool in the armamentarium of audiology to locate the site of lesion in the auditory apparatu
